Ruttenberg and McCusker Images Side-by-Side

Beautiful photograph by Mark McCusker

Beautiful painting by Janet Ruttenberg

I love how these two images look next to each other (above and below each other in this case). The Ruttenberg painting was recently on view at the Dubuque Museum of Art in Dubuque, Iowa, where my friend and colleague David Schmitz is the newly appointed Director.

Janet Ruttenberg is an native Iowan living in New York. I happened to stumble upon her painting in the Sheep’s Meadow of Central Park in Manhattan while walking there with my son Matt and his sweetheart Kimber back in October of 2013. Please see my blog entry for that date: http://darrelltaylorartist.blogspot.com/2013/10/central-park-october-2013.html

Mark’s picture is from November 2015, and shows the Taylor Arboretum (as he calls it) from the side yard facing south toward downtown Waterloo, Iowa. He titles it “shadows snow silverleaf maple tree west middle garden facing south bench.”
